YASUAKI NAKAJIMA was born in Hokkaido, Japan. 
A self-taught filmmaker, after high school, he 
went to Tokyo, where he honed his craft by 
shooting a short claymation film with second-hand 
Super-8 mm film camera in his apartment at night 
while working during the day as a highrise window 
cleaner. In 1994, he hitchhiked all around Australia 
filming his 6-month experience in the desert. 
He moved to New York in 1996 to join the independent
film community. His first dramatic feature film, 
AFTER THE APOCALYPSE has been screened over 
45 film festivals include: SXSW Fest, LA Fest and 
Raindance Fest. Yas was selected to be participating in 
"IFP/NY Project Involve program" in Spring 2005. 
He is self-distributing DVD of AFTER THE APOCALYPSE 
on www.aftertheapocalypse.com.
